Aims:
·         Be able to recognize and name family members vocabulary.
·         Recognize and make use not only of the personal pronouns SHE & HE, but also their required conjugation.
·         Be able to recognize and name the parts of the body taught in previous classes.
·         Be able to relate the vocabulary, as long with the possessive grammatical constructions, to describe not only people, but also cartoon characters.
Personal Aims: Observing how children respond to our tasks in a test environment for the first time.
Contents
Family members. Personal pronoun (he) and the grammatical constructions concerning possession. Descriptive vocabulary and the parts of the body.
Lexis
·         Reinforce learners basic vocabulary regarding FAMILY MEMBERS – such as mother, father, child, baby, sister, brother, grandmother and grandfather-, so that they can get acquainted with this new topic.
·         Body parts
·         Reinforce learners’ descriptive vocabulary.
Structures:
·         Pronouns: HE.
·         Grammatical construction concerning possession (both positive and negative polarity)
·         Materials: Photocopies provided to the students- Blackboard- students’ notebooks as long with the school’s projector and mobile loudspeakers.
ACTIVITY 1
In this easy still rich activity, students will be required to either to match by a line or write the number of a specific label with the correct word.


ACTIVITY 2
In this activity, students are required to write either TRUE or FALSE following the propositions they were provided with.

ACTIVITY 3
In activity three, students will be required to draw a line from the corresponding label to the correct picture it represents. This activity aimes at recalling vecabulary for the next activity.

ACTIVITY 4

In this last activity, students will be required to write either HAS GOT or HAS NOT GOT based on the information depicted in the pictures prodived to them (one per students- two versions available).

ACTIVITY 1
This activity requires students to recall vocabulary concerning the parts of the bodies by introducing a simple and entertaining matching game.

ACTIVITY 1.2
Activity 1.2 requires students to put into practice not only vocabulary concerning the parts of the body, but also the grammatical constructions has got/has not got and numbers.
ACTIVITY 2
This second activity requires young learners to easily recall, by the introduction of an easy-to-understand activity, names of family members as a warm-up anticipating the following activity.

Activity 2.2

This activity require students to put into practice the specific vocabulary concerning family members in conjunction with the grammatical construction HAS GOT/ HAS NOT GOT.

Introductory activity- puppets video

Students will be shown a short animated video aimed at young children depicting didactically different family in modern times.

Activity 1.2 complement video II- Disney channel

The following video taken from the Disney Channel Show “ Good Luck Charlie” aimes at both reenforcing and contextualizing the concept previously specified in VIDEO 1. This 1-minute video depicts how open, as well as respectful members of society can be by acting politely to difference which are in fact, part of our everyday reality.

Activity 1.3

This short acitivity aims at discussing some of the intercultural and gender elements depecting in both videos by asking for students participation and opinions on the matter.

Activity 2

Trainees will stick six different big red hearts on the board in order to recreate the different bird families adding a single dad with children and grandparents with grandchildren.
This activity will open a discussion so as to conclude that they are all families, as well as, that a family means love and protection.

Activity 3- Matching/Interpretation activity.

This simple, but rich in content activity requires children to appreciate different families depicted in the colorful photographs. Then, after reading the very short pieces of description linked to the pictures, young learners should match one photo with the correct written option.


Activity 4-



Should the amount of time be favorable, introducing this highly entertaining activity will not only boost children’s attitude towards the lesson, but also their vocabulary.

·         Consider cultural differences positive and enriching.
Personal Aims: Observing how children respond to our tasks concerning basic reading and listening comprehension for imitation.
·         To assess students’ engagement and motivation through their participation in tasks introducing activities that combine vocabulary, as well as different macro-skills.

Activity 1- Video session – Intercultural world
This activity requires children take part in the appreciation of different families around the globe. In this particular case, this video created by BBC CBeebies for children introduces little Massa, an Ethiopian young girl whose life is far from our own reality. 
The video aimes at foster the following items:
·          Intercultural awareness by providing REAL families from remote areas of the world experiencing different situations and enriching realities.
·         Grammatical constructions such as HAS GOT for possession and the verb to be for FAMILY- HE- SHE
·         Specific vocabulary as regards family members.
·         Descriptive vocabulary

Activity 2 – Reading comprehension
This activities requires children to develop their reading comprehension skills contextualizing it with the topic matter.

Activity 3 – Children’s Production
This activity requires children to create simple grammatical sentences on their own not only to foster vocabulary, but also to encourage individial work. Students will be required to choose TWO family members of any of the pictures provided by their teachers and write TWO positive sentences and TWO negative sentences concerning both the HAS GOT/HAS NOT GOT grammatical constructions and specific descriptive vocabulary.
